Siddharth, Core Jewellery World, India
The Challenge
Core Jewellery World produces around 900 new designs every month — rings, bracelets, bangles, and increasingly, larger statement necklaces. At that volume, photography isn't just a creative exercise. It's a business-critical operation.
The previous GemLightbox setup had served them well, but they had reached its limits. Larger pieces couldn't be accommodated, shadows were a persistent problem, and the link between photo quality and customer purchasing decisions was becoming impossible to ignore.
"The quality of my photographs has a direct link to the selection my customers make. Having better lighting, getting rid of those annoying shadows — we're looking forward to seeing how this will enable us to build better catalogs."
On top of photography, catalog and image management had become its own challenge. With hundreds of new designs cycling through each month, keeping images organised and accessible was slipping through the cracks.
"I don't think the industry has figured out how important catalog and image management is right now. As we're producing more and more designs, it's becoming that much more important that they are organised and easy to find."
GemLightbox Max's Role
Siddharth returned to the Hong Kong show as an existing GemIQ client — this time to see the GemLightbox Max. For a manufacturer at his scale, the larger shooting area was the immediate draw. Bigger pieces, no compromises.
But the software has proven to be just as valuable as the hardware. Core Jewellery World now runs every new sample directly through GemHub — GemIQ's image management platform — creating a seamless pipeline between the photography department and the marketing team.
"My marketing team is now free to put catalogs together. They're not dependent on the photography department to say 'I need images of XYZ style numbers.' Love the hardware — like the software even more."
The result has changed how they present to customers entirely. Where buyers once received Excel files, they now receive polished PDF catalogs with QR codes.
"Customers are impressed. They go — wow, I'm so used to getting this Excel file and now I have this fancy PDF with QR codes. It makes the company look better."
The Results
- 900 new designs per month now moving through a structured photography and cataloging pipeline
- Larger pieces — including statement necklaces — accommodated without limitation
- Marketing team operating independently from the photography department
- Customer-facing catalogs upgraded from Excel files to branded PDFs with QR codes
- Stronger visual merchandising directly influencing customer selection
For Core Jewellery World, GemLightbox Max isn't just a photography upgrade — it's infrastructure for a manufacturing business that runs on volume, speed, and presentation.
